The Machine Learning Department is a diverse, multi-disciplinary environment. Our faculty and students come from a wide variety of backgrounds and represent many unique areas of expertise. This diversity stems from the multi-disciplinary nature of machine learning, which encompasses aspects of computer science, statistics, signal processing, psychology and philosophy, and has many applications, from computational biology to social network analysis to robotics.
